Florida's $0 windshield deductible

Florida Statute § 627.7288 says the deductible on comprehensive coverage does not apply to windshield damage. If you have comprehensive, your insurer pays the full windshield replacement.

The rule applies to the windshield only. Side, rear, quarter and sunroof glass are still covered by comprehensive, with your normal deductible.

You have the right to choose your own glass shop. Since 2023, Florida law also bans shops from offering gifts or cash to get you to file a glass claim.
